Apostolate of Prayer
Most Salvatorian senior Sisters are retired but
are involved in an important ministry - the Apostolate
of Prayer. This is a commitment made by all senior
Sisters to pray daily for the intentions of benefactors
and friends.
The latter may ask them to pray for their family's
health and happiness, or for the young and the
old and the special challenges each faces. They
may request prayers for jobs, for loved ones and
friends who have died and that dear ones return
to the faith. They are also many intentions that
embrace international issues such as peace, hunger
and natural disasters. This list of intentions
truly never ends.

Periodically, a list of intentions
is sent and posted to our different Sisters' communities.
The Sisters pray for these intentions in chapel,
their rooms, and also offer their day for those
in need. Many friends have told us how comforting
it is to have this wonderful group praying - especially
when the person in need is so exhausted that it
is impossible to pray at certain times. Send
your prayer intentions...
Knowing that others are supporting them in prayer
gives many the strength to continue facing life's
challenges. The following testimonials express
the Sisters' commitment to this ministry. |

Sister Carmen Pachon, of Colombia,
also remembers the special requests as she says
her Office and attends Mass. " I say the
name of each person as I'm praying the Office.
And when I watch the news, I think of the many
people who also need our prayers throughout the
world." |
