Calm in the Christmas Season

What will it take to calm
this Christmas Season?
The weeks present many things
we don't need,
so little time and room to give.

Advent provides the space,
the longing and the coming
of small yet precious moments,
gift and remembrance -

A young couple
distressed and at peace,
journeying and visited
by royalty,
bringing understanding for us -
that in a child
Love rested in their arms
and Christmas brought
everything that was needed.
