She found the gift of religious life

The Mass of Christian Burial for Sister Bernice Smith, SDS will take place Friday, October 20 at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus chapel, 3800 N. 92nd Street in Milwaukee. Visitation in the chapel will begin at noon followed by a remembering service at 12:45 and Mass at 1:00 p.m. Burial service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21.

Bernice entered the Sisters of the Divine after establishing a career and owning a home in Saginaw, Mich. where she was born. The simple question, “Have you ever thought of becoming a Sister?” made her laugh at first, but eventually led her on the path to religious life. Read more here.
