Catholic Sisters Week: Celebrating Sister Karlyn Cauley, SDS
by Diane Poole, friend of Sr. Karlyn Cauley
I am grateful for the generous and loving life of Sister Karlyn Cauley, whose art helps to support her Salvatorian congregation and whose prayers have supported me since we first met. As an admirer of Shaker folk art, I first became a fan of Karlyn’s cards, paintings, and prints. Then, as friends, we shared time together at Sabbathday Lake and Hancock Shaker Village.
During one of her New England trips, her van broke down while visiting Martha’s Vineyard. Living in the area, I offered to play host to her for an entire week. I have also been equally blessed to visit her briefly at her Milwaukee art studio and apartment. Our friendship has been a holy connection over the years, and I am grateful. The world is a better place with Sister Karlyn in it, and I give thanks for her every day. My prayers for her and all of the Sisters of the Divine Savior continue. The Lord’s peace and my gratitude be with you, dear women of God.
Let’s show the Salvatorian Sisters we call our friends, family, and mentors, our love and appreciation during Catholic Sisters Week.
This Catholic Sister Week, March 8-14, take time to express your gratitude for the living Salvatorian Sisters who have positively impacted your life. All messages, reflections, and photos will be shared with the Sisters and have the potential of being shared on our website & social media during Catholic Sisters Week.
