Catholic Sisters Week: Remarkable Salvatorian Sisters
by Jackie White, Lay Salvatorian
So many sisters have impacted my life as a Lay Salvatorian. Sr. Liz Christensen faithfully supported my formation and is a role model for someone who quietly gets things done. We worked together at Southwest Medical Aid in Arizona. I will always remember the warmth and friendship that Sisters Mary Lee Grady and Mary Jo Stoffel extended to me when I began serving on the Salvatorian Joint Leadership Group. They would greet me whenever I passed by the break room. Their smiles and open friendship meant so much to me. Sisters Jean Schafer and Sheila Novak introduced me to anti-human trafficking work when I attended my first Salvatorian National Assembly as a Lay Salvatorian candidate. I still carry the passion for this work. Sr. Beverly Heike was a caring and consistent mentor to me during my leadership on the Joint Leadership Group. I could always count on her wise counsel and experience anytime I had a question or a thorny issue. I am in awe of the service, care, and strength of the sisters. What remarkable lives each one has lived!
Let’s show the Salvatorian Sisters we call our friends, family, and mentors, our love and appreciation during Catholic Sisters Week.
This Catholic Sister Week, March 8-14, take time to express your gratitude for the living Salvatorian Sisters who have positively impacted your life. All messages, reflections, and photos will be shared with the Sisters and have the potential of being shared on our website & social media during Catholic Sisters Week.
