A Re-Commitment Through Prayer
Salvatorians in the Milwaukee area gathered for Mass Sunday evening at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus to open the Year of Consecrated Life, proclaimed by Pope Francis, on the eve of our Foundation Day. All Salvatorians at the Mass renewed their vocation commitment with a prayer recited by Sisters of the Divine Savior, priests and brothers of the Society of the Divine Savior, and Lay Salvatorian women and men around the world:
Lord, Jesus Christ, Savior of the world,
In order to follow you faithfully
and dedicate myself
to the service of the Church
for the salvation of all,
I renew my sacred commitment to you
as a Salvatorian.
I trust in the intercession
of Mary, your Mother,
and of all our holy patrons,
as well as the daily help
of my sisters and brothers
in the Salvatorian Family.
Accept, O Lord, my commitment
and complete what you have begun in me
through the Holy Spirit
for the glory of God, the Creator.
Amen.
In 2014, we commemorate the 126th anniversary of our founding by Mother Mary of the Apostles and Father Francis Jordan in 1888 in Tivoli, Italy. December 8 also marks the 132nd year since Fr. Jordan founded the Apostolic Teaching Society, which now includes the women and men religious and lay branches of the Salvatorian Family.
