Salvatorian Sisters are Treasures of the Church

Sisters of the Divine Savior is this year’s recipient of the Treasures of the Church award presented to a religious community for social justice ministries. The award acknowledges our sisters’ work to advocate for women and children, immigrants and refugees, and especially to combat human trafficking.

The Milwaukee Archdiocese’s Treasures of the Church awards were presented at Archbishop Jerome Listecki’s Lenten Luncheon on March 19. Guests and honorees gathered in prayer and fellowship to enjoy a simple lunch of soup and bread. Proceeds from the annual luncheon benefit programs and services provided by the archdiocese’s Catholic Charities.

The annual awards are presented to recognize individuals, organizations and religious orders who, like Catholic Charities, offer help and hope to people who struggle with poverty.
