Social Justice WorkshopSeptember 24, 2016
Roots of Injustice, Seeds of Change: Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples is a social justice workshop created in response to calls from the World Council of Churches and Indigenous leaders at the United Nations, who urge faith communities and civic organizations to support implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
The two-hour workshop on Saturday, September 24, 2016 includes an interactive presentation, prayer/quiet reflection, and discussion. Due to the interactive discussion component, seating is limited to 40 participants. An additional afternoon training session is also available for participants who are in social justice-related leadership roles. Registration for the afternoon training is limited to 15 participants.
The workshop is sponsored by the Kateri Initiative of the Sisters of the Divine Savior, and is open to all.
