Sister Carol Thresher’s Birthday Reflection

In celebration of our sisters’ birthdays in 2023, we asked them to share an age they would like to go “back” to. On her birthday, Sister Carol affirms the value of each lesson she’s learned over the years and welcomes the new insights she has yet to gain.

When I stop and think about this question, in all honesty, I can say that I have never desired to go back to any particular age in my life. As I look back in time, each period had its own special joys, unique sorrows and even some significant traumas directly related to the circumstances I was living through. Standing in the NOW of my life, I would not choose to go back and repeat any of my past years. I treasure them and am hopeful that what I learned while moving through them is integrated into the Carol who moves forward today. I pray to be faithful to the lessons I learned and open to the new insights that are yet to come.
