The Mass of Christian Burial for Sr. Elaine Czarnezki, SDS (Cor Mariae) will take place Friday, January 8 at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus, 3800 N. 92nd Street in Milwaukee. Visitation will begin in the chapel at 12:30 p.m. followed by Mass at 1:15 p.m.
Sr. Elaine was drawn to the Salvatorian Sisters’ simplicity and worldwide mission. She ministered as a teacher, school principal, and as a chaplain in hospitals and nursing homes. Sr. Elaine served in Tanzania in East Africa where she founded a secondary school for girls, now run by the local people. Her passion for justice also led to social service ministry in Mississippi.
