Sr. CJ feels the Salvatorian spirit at DSHA

National Catholic Schools Week, January 29 – February 3

CJ-Zais_2014(2)Salvatorian Sister Carol Jean Zais, SDS has become a familiar face at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in Milwaukee.

Sr. “CJ” volunteers in Campus Ministry, the Advancement Office, the Archives, oh and don’t forget lunchroom duty! She loves being back in school, especially with the variety of her ministry at the all-girls high school sponsored by the Sisters of the Divine Savior.

“I do a lot of administrative work in Campus Ministry so the staff can spend more time with the students,” Sr. “CJ” explains. “I see the students engaged in many wonderful outreach projects serving needy people in our community through Campus Ministry.  They are so committed to social justice issues and very much into volunteer service. They’re always collecting cans for food pantries or making peanut butter sandwiches for Repairers of the Breach.”

Sr. Carol Jean describes one of her favorite parts of the school day.

“I am very inspired by the morning and afternoon prayer over the speaker at DSHA.  Everyone — faculty, staff, and students — stop what they’re doing and are attentive to the prayer.  The prayer is led by faculty in the morning and students in the afternoon.  It has a strong Salvatorian spirit about it!  It’s wonderful to be part of this!”
