A Prayer for Mother’s Day

Remember and ponder the many ways we have experienced the love of our mothers.

For this we give thanks.

Remember and ponder the many ways we have shared the love our mothers gave us.

For this we give thanks.

Remember and ponder the many ways God’s love has been experienced by our mothers.

For this we give thanks.

Loving God, my heart is filled with gratitude for my mother and the mother-figures in my life. Like Mary, who is the mother of our Lord, my being overflows with praise and thanks.

Each day, open my eyes, my heart and my entire being to see your goodness in the midst of our broken and fragmented world.
